i witnessed a woman (she was somewhere between 35-50) pull out in from of a police car & ambulance (both with sirens & lights and at high rates of speed!) and nearly cause an HUGE accident today. the look on her face was one of sheer schtupidity as she gunned it. luckily, no accident.
i then witnessed 2 green-clothing clad women (ages somewhere in the 25-40 range) hollytrot (which means it was not a serious quick-speedy dash, but instead kinda of a half-hearted attempt at a fastwalk) across the middle of what is normally a very busy (sorry, it is a very, VERY busy) street IN FRONT OF THE FIRETRUCK that was approximately 1-2 blocks behind the police car & ambulance. seriously? did neither hear the very loud & vary numerous sirens? or maybe they enjoy a good game of chicken with a firetruck? i do not know. just plain schtupid, in my opinion.
not sure if it was the warm weather that had melted these 3 womens' decision-making abilities. or maybe they knocked the froth offa couple of green beers on their lunch breaks?
whatever their excuses, they need to reminded of "What To Do When You HEAR Sirens or SEE Flashing Emergency Lights". they might make their decision differently if it where for themselves or a loved one that the emergency responders were headed to help.
at first glance, to most, this would appear to be a little girl's room in desperate need of some tidying up. serious tidying up! and who would let their little girl play with all those dishtowels? and are there not BOOKshelves for those books that are obviously not being read?
well...look closer. please. do you see how the little *mommy* has so tightly tucked in each of her 4 most cherished buddies? and has provided each with their own book? the buddies are having snoozers. if this photo had audio, you could even hear the "imagination movers" singing to these tired buddies. bailey dog (brown dog, who you can see at the bottom of the photo). elmo. and the 2 you cannot see - freckles and preckies.
linnea loves her buddies. she takes very good care of them. these are her friends. her constant companions. her confidants. and i respect that. and love that about her!
(sometime perhaps i will write about my own childhood buddies...one who is lovingly on a shelf in linnea's room. fluffy bluestone is now almost 37 years old)
this is just THE THING to help me get outta the rut that has sucked me in the past couple weeks! i needed something quick & creative to post today...mostly b/c The Little Dog is hounding me for A Nap (i toggle between my l-u-v of napping with one of my little girls, the little dog & the furball cat. OH oh, my hubs, too...i like to snuggle up to him, too!).
anywho...once i win one of these pretties, "sweet" or "swanky", then i shall post a photo of my amazingly mad crafty skills showing WHAT I DID WITH MY WINNINGS! it just might have something to do with the button-pillows that i am in the midst of making for my lil honeys...........with some of the moda fabric....hmmmmmm.....here's the linky-loo if you think you should win, too:
